About Us

Aydin Consulting was established in 2004 to provide comprehensive legal and property advice. Since then Aydin Consulting has continued to provide clients with clear, simple and cost effective advice for all of their legal and property needs. Mikel Aydin is the principal of Aydin Consulting. Mikel graduated with a combined Arts/Law degree from the University of Sydney in 1999. He then went on to work as a solicitor for the Crown Solicitor's Office and Michell Sillar . In 2000 he was recruited by Minter Ellison, one of the largest global law firms as a member of its Property Team. There, Mikel represented some of the most prominent companies in the country including Deutsche Bank, AMP and Colonial First State, providing expert legal advice in property matters.
In 2004 Mikel accepted an offer to become a shareholder and Legal Counsel at Sassin Group, a small but dynamic property development firm based in Sydney and specialising in rural and residential land subdivisions and investments. There, Mikel gained valuable hands on experience in the property development process from procurement to completion. He handled every aspect of the group’s projects from both a commercial and legal perspective. During this time he had the privilege of completing projects in South East Queensland, the NSW Mid North Coast, Port Stephens and Tasmania, where he still has direct interests including a stake in an artisan dairy. During his professional career, Mikel has become an expert in the seamless transition of turning an idea into an outcome without losing sight of the hazards that can derail the endeavour. Mikel understands businesses and people. In most cases his sole objective is to strike a balance between reward and risk which is a skill that he is able to utilise with expert efficiency.
Having sufficiently sated himself on the corporate world, Mikel took time out in 2009 to devote his energies to the not for profit sector. He spent almost four years at Parramatta Mission, an activity of the Uniting Church where he held the multiple roles of CEO Housing, Director of Property and Legal Counsel. During this time Mikel was able to gain valuable management experience in financial modelling, risk management, strategic direction, policy and procedure, business planning and leadership development. Among other things he looked after a significant property portfolio in excess of $250 million owned by Parramatta Mission and the State Government which was used to provide accommodation for the disadvantaged.
